Warren & Schairbaum practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law and Social Security Disability law. We deliver personalized service to assist individuals and families as they work through the challenges we all face: How do we plan for and take care of ourselves and those we love? We’ll listen to your situation and your goals, explain the options available, and help you understand how they would work for you.
We provide an environment where you can ask questions and engage in the legal process, so that you feel connected with your legal planning. We’ll work with you to develop a plan tailored to your, or your family’s, situation, current needs, and future goals.
ESTATE PLANNING
Estate planning is the process of planning for the possibility of becoming disabled or incapacitated as well as for after your death. No one looks forward to considering these situations, but most feel better after going through the planning process and finishing with a tailored plan in place. Such planning considers issues including: Who will inherit your assets? Who will take care of your children? Who will stand in your place and make financial and legal decisions for you if you can’t? What about medical decisions?
ELDER LAW
Elder law involves estate planning, but it is not only estate planning. It also involves the issues of taking care of mom and dad, yourself and your spouse or partner, as you age. Elder law planning considers issues including: Will the loved one need care that the family cannot provide? Is it possible to receive that care at home? How will that care be paid for? Are Medicaid or Veteran’s benefits a possible source of support? How can I best maintain independence, age with dignity and protect my quality of life?
DISABILITY BENEFITS
Was your application for Social Security Disability benefits or Supplemental Security Income denied? Don’t lose heart! Most applications are denied initially. We’ll help you appeal your case. We’ll discuss your unique situation, talk about the legal process involved and determine the next best steps to take. Some questions to consider are: Does my doctor support my claim for disability? Am I following up on treatment recommendations? We know that you are more than your disability. But we also know how seriously a disability can affect your life.
Testimonials
I felt very comfortable. They never made me feel that I had a stupid question. They always took the time to make me feel that I understood what was happening in my case.
After our first meeting with Sarah Schairbaum, we knew we made the right choice. She was always accessible and timely in answering our questions. Although we were never given false hope, the results in my husband’s disability hearing were favorable.
I just wanted to let you know how gracious and thankful I am to you for providing me with the kindness, courtesy, and attention to detail that I could have ever asked for in handling my case.
